Classy Downtown Engagement
I was really excited to shoot Laura and Tony – I had been in contact with Laura about the session for weeks and we finally settled on a classy downtown engagement session. Laura had her makeup and hair done and a custom hand made skirt by a local designer. The makeup artist even came with us to the shoot for touchups. These two put a lot of thought into the session… Tony even surprised Laura with a beautiful gift of necklace and earrings. There was an audible collective ‘Awwww’ at this romantic gesture between myself, Laura and the makeup artist (Katie Lynn). This awesome couple is setting new standards for engagement sessions! Laura and Tony are so comfortable with each other and fun in front of the camera which was reflected in their awesome photos!
Laura and Tony’s Love Story
Laura and Tony went to the same high school and remained friends throughout university and into their careers. Over ten years after they met, they decided to go on a first date on Valentines day when neither of them had plans. Dinner took all night, as they both kept ordering more food in order to prolong the evening with each other. It was then they both realized they have something special!
From Tony: ‘I took Laura out for dinner where we had our first date and had this elaborate plan set out for the evening. Unfortunately, Laura had a different agenda for the evening and was confused as to why I was so adamant about doing the things I wanted to. My plan was to bring her to Science North and take a walk through the Christmas lights and then find the right time to ask her to marry me. While walking through I realized that there were quite a few people there that evening and became quite nervous about doing this in front of all these strangers. She saw some lights that were down by the waterfront and after heading down to see them I decided this was the time and asked her to be my wife. I don’t think I’ve ever been that nervous.’
This stunning and unique ring is a emerald cut diamond with baguettes around it surrounded by a diamond halo from Downtown Sudbury’s Robert Brown Jewellers.
