Engagement at Laurentian Conservation Area

From the groom-to-be: “Julie had been wanting to learn to cross country ski for a while so for Christmas last year I got us the skis and the rest of the gear that we would need to try it out. The morning of New Year’s Eve I convinced her that we should take out the skis for the first time and give it a shot. We had plans to celebrate NYE that night so she thought we should just stay in and relax so that we wouldn’t be too tired. Eventually I convinced her that today would be the perfect day, after all the weather was beautiful, not too cold and not too hot. I packed the car with our brand new ski gear, made sure Julie was dressed warm and hit the road, making sure not to forget the ring. Although the drive to the Onaping Falls Ski Trail was only 30 minutes, it felt like forever, I was so excited. When we arrived we quickly suited up, waxed our skis and hit the trails. My plan was to propose the minute Julie fell down while skiing. I figured as a beginner, this wouldn’t take very long. We skied for nearly an hour, and she didn’t fall yet…I was starting to get worried that if wouldn’t happen and I would be stuck figuring something else out last minute. Nearing the end of the trail I saw the perfect spot to propose. The area of the trail had large pine trees, just the right amount of snow and more importantly a very large down-slope where Julie was guaranteed to fall. Just as I had envisioned she fell flat on her butt. I immediately raced over to her while trying to not fall myself. Once she was able to get up, I stayed on one knee, grabbed her left hand, fumbled with the ring box in my winter jacket pocket and popped the question. She said yes.. :)”

Tofino Beach Engagement

The Shoot When this lovely bride-to-be approached me about a Tofino beach engagement, I got a little too excited and started planning, pinning and preparing immediately. Having never been to Tofino before, I heard tales of its beauty and surf culture, rare in Canada, and I wanted to capture some of the beaches that Tofino is famed for….
