Lauren and Phil – Rainy Sudbury Wedding photos at the Ukrainian Centre

I love the smell of rain. It reminds me of England, of lush vine covered houses and crumbling old brick buildings surrounded by rustic landscape. Everything seems greener in the rain, and Lauren and Phil’s wedding was no exception. The gardens we took the photos in…. it was emerald and earthy, and really fit Lauren’s classic theme. The rain stopped just long enough to snap a few shots, and when it resumed, we had some fantastic umbrella holders who ducked in and out of the picture for half a second while I snapped away!

Lauren’s rainy wedding was full of beautiful details, my favourite was the accordion at dinner. Why an accordion? Lauren and Phil got engaged in Venice and the night Phil proposed they were serenaded by an accordion over dinner. That  just tipped over the “awww” scale, thumbs up to Phil!

The classic car is a 1938 Pontiac, Lauren’s dad has had it since he was a teenager and her parents used that same car in their wedding in 1983 (they are still happily married, 29 years later). Her dad had put a lot of TLC into the car to keep it running all these years but still had a scare when it broke down the week before the wedding.

From the bride: “The best moment of the day was marrying my best friend in front of all the important people that have touched our lives and been there with us every step of the way.”
