French River DIY Rustic small wedding at a fishing lodge
Megan is from British Columbia, and Allan is from Pennsylvania. They met when they were 12 years old at the fishing lodge, Crane’s Lochaven Wilderness Lodge in the French River. Their families continued to go to the lodge throughout their adolescence and that’s when this adorable couple started their courtship.
Megan had a lot of work to do and not only in the DIY details, but the general planning for the wedding. All 75 guests had to be shuttled to the island, organize which cabins everyone was in, and organize shuttles – almost all the guests were from out of province, and half from out of the country.
Everything you saw at the wedding was made by Megan or her entourage. Even supper was cooked by the grooms mother! I loved her bridesmaids dresses… they got to choose whatever style they wanted, as long as it was in powder blue.
“Walking down the aisle, I felt like I was getting a nice warm huge from all of my favourite people, it was so romantic.” -Megan’s best wedding moment
