Sudbury Wedding Photographer Caroline Ross Shoots Fantastic Wedding for Melanie and Brandon
When I first met Melanie and Brandon, I felt immediately comfortable with them. The soft spoken Melanie opened up quickly and had so many unique ideas for their engagement session and wedding photos. You may recognize Brandon and Melanie from their stylized engagement session at the fair. Melanie had a polka dot vintage style dress and Brandon dressed the part of the dashing gentleman, complete with a hat. This trendy couple’s love for fashion was evident at their wedding with Melanie’s stunning Maggie Sottero lace dress and Brandon’s debonair grey suit.
The Wedding Day
This wedding was rich in unique details. Moustache tattoos, Melanie’s lace wedding dress by Maggie Sottero and Brandon’s monogramed suit were details that really stood out above the rest. There were teapots everywhere at the reception, the teapot set from the head table belongs to the bride’s grandma and the rest are from Sudbury Value Village and local consignment shops.
My favourite detail was the lovebird cake toppers. On their first date, Melanie and Brandon bonded over dinner at a local Sudbury restaurant. At the end of the date, the server wrote “good night lovebirds” on a (clean) napkin and Melanie has kept it ever since. They continue to surprise each other with lovebird themed gifts for special occasions.
Melanie fell in love with this romantic lace Maggie Sottero Rhianna Royale lace wedding dress. The slim fitting gown with elegant floral and tulle was discontinued, but this determined bride to be was not discourage. She called over 50 wedding dress shops in Ontario, Quebec and the US before finding it in a small shop in Renfrew, Ontario. Melanie’s accessories matched perfectly. Her hand made hairpiece is from the Velvet Teacup and her handmade garter is from the Chica Boutique, both from Etsy.com.
We just started taking the family formal shots inside the lobby at the Holiday Inn on Regent St, when the fire alarm went off. After heading back inside after the fire truck came, the alarm went off again! It turns out the cotton candy machine at the reception caught on fire. The fire trucks made for some unique shots.
Melanie’s hair was by Angele at Charm Plus, her make-up was Airbrush Makeup by Christina. The wedding coordinators were Tasha and Shanna from Green Leaf Weddings and Events.
