Vancouver Backyard Wedding – South Granville Heritage House

This beautiful Vancouver backyard wedding was complete with twinkly string lights, leafy colourful florals, friends singing on acoustic guitars and the bride and groom dancing in each others arms under the stars until the early hours of the morning.

Alex, a talented freelance graphic designer met Will,  juice company owner, at a party in summer 2012. This party was unique because it was organized by a mutual friend visiting from Ontario who wanted to catch up with some west coast friends she met through travel and school.  Alex and Will continued to see each other after the party and a few years later, while Alex was making Will’s halloween costume, she felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned around and Will was on one knee with an engagement ring in hand.  They started planning for a wedding immediately and 8 months later had a picture perfect backyard Vancouver wedding surrounded by their closest friends and family.

This wedding was a photographers dream, from the tree lined and ivy covered in South Granville to the unique details such as the white bridesmaids dresses, leafy flower crowns and adorable canine wedding crashers. The bride and groom were relaxed and fun throughout the photoshoot and their biggest concern was ensuring their guests were comfortable and enjoying the day. The bride’s father’s 1929 Invicta Low Chassis car was the perfect photo prop for the  South Granville background.
