During my trip in February, a few photographer friends and I got a chance to shoot a celestial themed styled shoot in the California Desert. This beautiful wedding styled shoot was organized and planned by Shutter Key Photography who took charge of the whole day from the florals, to hair, makeup and the location. Thank you Kyndall for your hard work!
The venue was really unique… The Ruins is an abandoned homestead from the 1920’s. The family that originally owned the land came west searching for gold, found copper and ended up drilling water and left shortly after. Now, almost 100 years later the ruins are privately owned and used for events and weddings. We were lucky to have the owners of The Ruins let us use their Inn,  The Inn at the Ruin for our bride and groom to get ready at.  I loved how accommodating and kind the owner was. He brought us ponchos when we were cold and powered up the generator for the Edison bulb lights and made sure everyone had snacks.
I love the celestial theme of this styled shoot – the sequinned star wedding dress, table settings, galaxy cake and invitations all followed the theme perfectly! The floral company  provided us with three different bouquets and boutonnieres and was on hand at the Ruins to help set up and ensure all the florals were looking great.
