From St Maarten to Mexico – Happy Cinco de Mayo

From St Maarten to Mexico – Happy Cinco de Mayo

On my way from St Maarten to Puerto Vallarta, I had a layover in Fort Worth, Texas, which is where everyone from the wedding is flying from. I had amazing super-hosts for the evening,  wedding florist and planner duo, Krisi and Nathan from Gro Designs, hosted me for the night. After being picked up by Krisi at the airport and brought to their beautiful home, this couple gave me their own bedroom to sleep in. I couldn’t believe how kind and generous these two were! In the morning I got a chance to see their studio, in Dallas Texas, before heading to the airport for a short flight to Puerto Vallarta. I was stunned with how mountainous the west coast of Mexico was. We made our way from Puerto Vallarta to Punta Mita, where a beautiful luxury villa awaited us! Nathan and Krisi had friends who owned a private villa Casa de Olas and, as a late wedding gift, allowed them and some friends to stay there. Later two other of their friends, one of them the officiant for the wedding, also joined us. The villa was a stunning 10 000 sq foot villa golf course and ocean front. While the others were out doing wedding planning and floristy things, I got a chance to take in the stunning scenery, read a book at the pool and relax before a few days of photography events. Thank you so much to my wonderful hosts and I loved getting a chance to see Mexico! Here are some links to the rest of my trip!

Our little stop at the gas station. Any qualms I had about travelling in Mexico were squashed in Puerto Vallarta. It was like Florida! Wall Mart and all!

  • […] I flew from St Maarten to Punta Mita for this wedding and got to see some of Dallas in the process while staying overnight with the talented wedding planners and floral designers, Gro Designs. I was really shocked at how beautiful Punta Mita was… for those who, like me, were Punta Mita virgins, It’s a stunning community on the east coast of Mexico, just outside of Puerto Vallarta.  With multiple golf course, picturesque mountain ranges, high end resorts and exquisite private villas, the gated community is a perfect setting for a wedding. The night before the wedding, I had a chance to capture Jeni and Nick’s Rehearsal Dinner , where everyone got a chance to tell the soon-to-be newlyweds how much they meant to them. […]
