Carrie and Brent celebrated their Ontario winter wedding cozied up at Bryston’s on the Park surrounded by their closest friends and family. Warmed by spicy drinks in their custom Moscow Mule mugs, nobody was cold despite the below freezing temperatures outside. Carrie and Brent seem to thrive in the cold weather- with a winter proposal, below freezing engagement session, and winter wedding… I was surprised they didn’t have their first dance to the soundtrack of Frozen! Luckily, they were able to enjoy a warm honeymoon in Hawaii, where Brent lost two wedding rings, one a Kona wood ring he purchased in Waikiki.
The Love Story
Carrie and Brent have a very unique meet-cute… one that wouldn’t have happened without friends helping out. The brother-in-law of Carrie’s friend, Josee, stood in a wedding in Mexico where Brent was also standing. Through the grapevine, Carrie heard of the handsome, single groomsmen and asked Josee if she could find out all the juicy details. Carrie lived in Pembroke at the time and during her next trip back to Sudbury, their friends got them together for a date. They hit it off and Brent later travelled all the way to Pembroke for their second date. This wouldn’t be the last time Brent would drive the distance to see Carrie. Eventually, Carrie finally got a full time job at the hospital in Sudbury and three years later and Brent proposed on the boardwalk where they had their first date.
From the groom: She was funny and had this charisma about her. Also, she was very honest, which, I loved. We had a good time and enjoyed each other’s company and wanted to spend more time to get to know each other despite living 300kms apart. I love that Carrie is brutally honest and speaks her mind. She loves to experiment with food and I get to try it all. Also, she pushes me to my limits when it comes to trying new things and going on adventures.
From the Bride:Â I knew he was the one I wanted to spend my life with when he was spending every minute he could with his father when he was ill, taking care of his family first – I knew he would be the perfect husband and father to our future children.
Carrie and Brent’s wanted their wedding details to have gold and marble accents and coincidentally the photoshoot followed this theme…the snow covered rocks looked like marble behind the golden dried perennial reed’s on the frozen pond we shot their formals on.
