I first met this amazing mompreneur and her little darling last December at a charity fundraiser photoshoot. Genicca is the lovely soul behind the website Genicca.com, a beautiful empowering blog and place to learn, laugh and be inspired. I keep bumping into Genicca through Vancouver networking events, and Vancity Business Babes meetups and was excited for a chance to work together professionally at this mother daughter photoshoot.Â
With a mutual love for spring and Vancouver’s cherry blossoms, we decided spring was the perfect time for a photoshoot. With both our busy schedules and travelling, we missed the perfect pink blossoms by a week, but were still able to find Magnolia blossoms and shot on blankets of petals, resulting in a feminine, ethereal shoot.
Queen Elizabeth Park
Queen Elizabeth Park in Vancouver is a 130 acre park on the top of Little Mountain. With is unrivaled views of the city, stunning arboretum, chapel, rose garden, restaurant and nature conservatory, Queen Elizabeth Park is the perfect place for a family photoshoot… or to get lost in the gardens shooting flowers!
With a background in fashion design I knew Genicca would have the perfect outfits for the shoot… and she did, but forgot little MaKyla’s dress at home. It got to spend some time with this little angel while Mom ran to get a new outfit from the nearby Bay. Makyla was happy until the very end when she finally realized mom wasn’t there… She started looking around frantically and then turned to me with the biggest eyes in the world and let out her crocodile tears. Even when she is crying she’s adorable!  This was shot right before the tears came down!Â
